IT'S NEARLY TIME FOR YOUR SESSION! * IT'S NEARLY TIME FOR YOUR SESSION! *

I’ve put together this little guide to walk you through what to expect so you can turn up on the day relaxed and know you’re in safe hands.

I’ll keep your beautiful story and your intention for your session at the forefront of my mind throughout our time together to ensure we capture those wonderful meaningful moments.

I’ll arrive early, but I won’t knock your door until the session time, nobody wants the early doorbell panic! Before we start, feel free to show me your favourite spots around your home or the places that feel the most meaningful to you. I’ll only photograph where you feel comfortable.

It’s perfectly normal to feel a little nervous. I’m a gentle presence and will bring a soothing, warm energy to put you at ease.

My photography is all about you and your true moments of connection.  You’re safe to be yourselves with me and there’s no pressure for perfection or performance, I love to photograph you exactly as you are.

Whether you (or your little ones) are camera shy or camera ready, your authentic selves will shine through when you focus on each other and delight in this chapter of your story.  My photography isn’t about perfect poses, it’s about the real love, real laughter, and real connection of your beautiful family.

There is beauty in both stillness and movement.

Whether your family is bursting with energy or taking a slow moment, every state is welcome and beautiful.

Stillness invites connection and intimacy, whereas movement brings vitality, freedom, and the very best chaos.

Feel free to pause, breathe, dance and spin. Be wild and be true. Most importantly, be you. I’ll photograph it all.

Please let go of any pressure for perfection. You and your home are perfect exactly as you are.  There’s no need to tidy from top to bottom, I’m not there to photograph your house itself, only to capture how you connect within it.

I adore photographing in natural light and because your light is unique to your home, I won’t be bringing any external lighting. Whether your space is filled with streaming sunlight or wrapped in cosy, cocooning low light, we’ll lean into it.

If you love using lamps in your home these can be turned on too. They can add warmth, depth and feeling to the images and help brighten where needed.

I’ll only guide you as and when needed because the real moments happen in the in-betweens. You’ll find me at a distance, letting your movement naturally unfold and giving you space to connect, and coming in close for quiet and tender details too.

I’ll follow your family’s lead (especially your little ones!) throughout. If you need time to warm up or want to take a break, just let me know and I’ll give you the space.

I’ll always respect your boundaries and your comfort. I’ll only be hands-on when needed, and I’ll always ask first. This might include adjusting stray hairs or offering to help with positioning but only if this feels right for you.

Please don’t worry about you or your little ones smiling into the camera, I love to photograph  your natural expressions, interactions, movement, and laughter.  With less focus on the camera, smiles and giggles happen naturally.

I’m here to celebrate your moments with you as you tell your story, to document the wonderful this meaningful chapter that you’ll look back on with love and nostalgia.

I'll be me and you'll be you, and together we'll create something beautiful.

Sometimes plans need to change,  I completely understand. If this happens, please get in touch as soon as you’re able to. With enough notice we can change locations, tweak our timings, or reschedule if necessary.

Our sessions aren’t rushed, we’ll take our time. If you need a little longer to feel comfortable with me and my camera, please let me know.  I’m more than happy to adjust the pace or length of your session to ensure you feel relaxed and safe in my presence.

Firstly, please wear what you want to wear, what makes you feel like you, what suits your story and your session location.

Life doesn’t sit inside a colour palette, especially with little ones who may need outfit changes.  Comfort and confidence is key, so if they (or you!) are in fancy dress, wellies or roller skates and that’s part of your story, we’ll celebrate it!

That being said, some clients request a wardrobe input, and if that’s you then keep reading…

A shared style helps your images feel cohesive, so coordinating clothing can be gorgeous.  You don’t need to match, or wear the same colours, but I recommend opting for cohesive tones (think pastels or brights, neutrals or primary hues).

Matching the vibe of your story helps your images feel cohesive. For example, if you’re wanting to capture movement, softness or the feeling of freedom I’d recommend wearing loose, textured or flowing clothing, and layering too. If you’re in a grassy area I’d recommend not wearing green, so that there’s a contrast between yourself and the background. My faves are denim with a light neutral, especially for beach sessions, and soft colours.

Please avoid big logos or neon colours as they tend to be a distraction, and if you want timeless images I’d recommend staying clear of fleeting trends too.

After your session, I’ll get editing and send over the final images within 3 months of your session date (it’s usually sooner, but life can get busy!).

Printing options are available separately for beautiful Storybooks and prints of your wonderful moments, and you can choose these through your gallery.

Later, I’ll send you an invitation to share your feedback or testimonial. I’d be incredibly grateful if you could spare a few moments to reflect on your experience. A few sentences would be truly appreciated as your thoughts help me to shape and improve future sessions.

Thank you so much for trusting me with your beautiful story, I can’t wait to make your moments eternal.  I’m so excited for you to cherish the images for decades to come, and I’d be honoured to photograph any future chapters in your life.

See you soooooon!

Love,
